You'll find here people from diverse backgrounds, orientations, and walks of life: activists out to change the world, hopeful gadflies impatient with religion, pilgrims taking spiritual risks, prophets speaking truth to power, plain people in need of hugs, and noisy children. Come try us out.
We are seeking to understand God's love and grace, and to reflect the wonder of it in our ministry. We talk frequently and boisterously about theology and things of the spirit, opinions ranging across the map. We hope you discover the joy in wrestling with such things.
Our dynamic history includes a part in the founding of Denison University, participation in the Underground Railroad, involvement in the Women's Movement from the nineteenth century on, the struggle for academic freedom, war resisistance, civil rights activism, the ordination of women and minorities, building houses with Habitat for Humanity, sending out over 300 missionaries around the world, and public witness on behalf of the GLBT Movement.
Our pastors and people would like to spend time with you, get to know you, invite you to our classes, support groups, mission groups and fellowship gatherings. We'd like to invite you to share in the miracle we've discovered in our life together.
Please join us at 11:00 on any Sunday morning for our worship service. Come a bit early and find your way to our hospitality area at the back of the sanctuary, where the coffee pot is on and friendly people are waiting to greet you. Let them know if there is anything that would help you feel more comfortable. Nursery care is available during worship in the Christian Education Building which is just across the driveway of the main building.
We dress comfortably, laugh and sing, ask for prayer and support from each other, and love our time together as God's family.
